Kernel Mode and User Mode in Reality!

Image
Kernel Mode = Most privileged, Soul inside  User Mode = Less privileged, Mind mode which is materialistic and wants to control the outcome! The kernel mode has not security, it is limited to 16 bits. There is a fixed boot address 0x7c00 to boot the operating system. This is like a child who retains memory fully starting at 7 years old. There is nothing to be guarded there since the individual is too small to think and take actions for himself. The different code segments in the memory are the different areas of emotion, thought, memory from the past and the data segment is the current operation that you are performing. If there is overlap in the code segments, the kernel is going to be functioning incorrectly, very similar to what happens to human mind when there is overlap of emotions, memory and confusion! Care has to be taken to make sure that each segment is accessed separately and handled correctly. There should be no mash-up of different areas in the brain at any point of time. G

Periodic Table of DevOps Tools

Image
See the table above! I stumbled upon this while researching tools! So many tools in DevOps, it is overwhelming to say the least! But we are getting a good amount of variety to choose from  1. Open Source     Easy to maintain and deploy.  2. In house developed.     More work needed, but can claim bragging rights. 3. Set of shell scripts.     Needs regular tweaking and changes. 4. Off the shelf components.    Cover licensing costs. A typical DevOps environment will need at least one tool from each of these categories. Hence the complexity. The categories are 1. Source Code Management (SCM) 2. Continuous Integration (CI) 3. Deployment 4. Cloud 5. BI 6. Database Monitoring 7. Repo Monitoring 8. Configuration 9. Provisioning 10. Release Management 11. Logging 12. Build 13. Testing 14. Containerization 15. Collaboration 16. Security By far, containerization has helped the most to get the best tools at the same location with least effort.

Learning and how does it affect you?

Image
Learning is important in every stage of life. There is no point in life where the person can claim that "I have the complete knowledge". There are still things to learn and appreciate. Being humble and receptive to the ideas and thoughts that are being learnt is essential to grow in your path of life! Growth happens when you want it to happen and it is organic. Nothing changes overnight. Research states that it takes 21 days of continuous effort to change a habit.  Here are some essentials to know when you want to change the way leading up to your new sense of realization. 1. Making a habit is the first step of learning. 2. Release all grudges and ill feeling. The ill feeling harms you more than the other person. 3. No one remembers the time you failed, they only remember your wins so it is no use clinging on to it. 4. The elation of winning is short lived, there is always the next best thing to win as in life. 5. Trying continously to raise your standards should be your foc

Mini golf - and how it relates to life - 18 stages of life.

Image
Have you ever played mini golf? It is a simple game of golf with obstacles in the way. It has a fixed set of goals to be accomplished and you enter in with your tee and ball. Each person is playing his own game of life there! Similar to real life. You will have company in the form of participants in your game but they cannot play for you. It is you who has to do the perfect shots and get there. Magic happens in some of the shots and you fly be with a hole-in-one! That is when your lady luck is smiling upon you!  But there are those tough ones which seems easy from a distance just like a mirage. But when you approach closer you realize the pain points. As in life, some stages of life look easy when you are a kid, but when you reach the crucial point in life when you are graduating from college and looking for a job. As a kid that stage of life seems easy but in reality those are the toughest points in life.  The next stage is the marriage portion of life which is the hardest! The ques

You become what you think!!

Image
What are you thinking when you look at this? Ideas, inspirations, positive thoughts? Once the mind sets its frequency to think at a certain frequency, all the thoughts that follow are in the same frequency. Sound familiar? This is what is referred to as the power of thinking. You become what you think... So think good for yourself, for your well-being. Optimistic people are known to live happier, healthier and wealthier lifestyles.  The power of thinking and vibrating at high frequencies cannot be over-emphasized in this changing society and times. Kids are thinking like adults and adults are trying to still figure things out. Little kids are adopting design thinking and solving bigger world problems while we are still growing.  That idea that seems like a pipe-dream is not so, it is to be acted upon. Failing soon is better than trying too hard and not getting anywhere. The flow of thoughts needs to go through it's ups and downs in order to reach the public consciousness. Whateve

Why is cooking creative?

Image
Cooking : what is it actually? Yummy! dishes are the output. c - create an appetite  o - organize your kitchen table to form an assembly line  o - order your ingredients  k - kindle the fire (passion) i - input the ingredients  n - navigate the ingredients to add new things on top  g - garnish with spices. Cooking is so important for survival that it is no wonder that there are so many dishes and recipes to choose from. A lot goes into the daily planning and organizing to get the best quality output to be tasted. It is very much like research. The experiment may or may not be successful. A slight sleight of hand can cause a mishap. Expert cooks can make the correction. Novices have to be trained to produce a good outcome. Lot of recipe reading and mixing happens in the kitchen. Two or more people can add their own style of cooking. Just like writing a research paper several people can have different styles of cooking. Chopping vegetables is the first step. This can be done with a mac

What should you be thinking while impromptu speaking?

Image
"It usually takes more than three weeks to prepare a good impromptu speech.", Mark Twain. Yes that's partly true! There are several things that are running in the mind of the speaker at the time of the impromptu speech.  There are some sure techniques to follow while giving a impromptu speech. 1. Thank the person who is asking you to speak. Silence :the voice in your head that is scaring you. You can do it! is what you need to tell yourself. The second step is to  2. Decide : "To be or not to be". You need to take a stance on a given question or topic. Reading a lot of material before the speech is good idea to get started. 3. Mental map: Prepare an introduction, body and conclusion for your quick thought. Prioritize the thoughts that are coming in your head to pick a few good ones. It will be best to pick the most convincing for you. You have to believe in the thought that you are going to speak before you sound authentic. Add some passion to the speech and d
