Vaccinated?

The question that has been plaguing us for the past year "Are you vaccinated?" will finally be a thing of the past for most people by end of this month. Being vaccinated does not solve all the problems.

As per the diagram above gathered from the US census data from 2010, it is clear if we get 70% of people vaccinated completely, we may have less chance of infection and seeing another wave.

How do we get the millions of people to go back to work fearlessly? This will be an uphill battle unless we have strict rules followed at the workplace and keep checking for new infections and strains of the virus. But between "U" and "I" we can reduce the incidence and the risk by following some simple hyegenic practices.
 1. Wear a mask
 2. Wash your hands
 3. Use minimal resources to minimize the trips to the store.

How do we change the mindset to believe in the abundance and the courage to mingle? The human mind is conditioned to think that my friends and my relatives are ok to mingle, we need to be apprehensive of strangers and people who are not in our network. Little bit of compassion and understanding can go a long way.

Will life ever be back to pre-Covid? Maybe in a while, but with lot of effort and confidence creation processes.

We would definitely end up with two sets of people, the ones that believe in the vaccine and all its benefits and the ones that do not believe in the vaccine and remain the same? The pandemic did take a lot of lives and rendered us handicapped for a short amount of time, but the regular activities needed for sustaining a living went on. We still went out to buy food to feed ourselves and home-schooled our kids to their benefit. The advantage of the home bound activities is that we connected better with our family and learnt a thing or two about our kids and better halves.

Value of people from your family increased to a large extent. No more making fun of food cooked by "Mom". When the option to eat out reduces you end up eating what is available at home or cook for yourself. The older kid of the house started cooking for the whole family when parents are on back to back meetings. Things are getting more co-operative and relationships are massaged. Now comes the getting back to normal!! The people who wanted to take the vaccine are the ones who believe that we will be fine!

The ones that refuse to take the vaccine are the difficult part of the population to convince! We will get there gradually, never give up!

First the healthcare workers , then the essential workers followed by job seekers in a particular age group and finally kids, all of them are getting vaccinated. Double thumbs up to the healthcare workers! Way to go!

It has to be a combined effort to set the ball rolling in the correct direction. Mountains cannot be moved in one day, but with consistent effort and practice! Let's promise to ourselves that we will do our best!
