Conference experience in the new era!

I attended the Women Transforming Technology conference today and it would be right to say that times have changed! The pandemic forced us to adapt to the new environment of being socially distanced!

Everybody logged into the app "Whova" and made the connections relevant to them. Things have changed dynamically and people are adapting to the change. That is how growth has happened in making new connections.

The first step is to connect to the app and identify attendees from your area. The messaging enables you to chat with the people in the list. A notification is sent when a new person joins or you receive a message in the chat. Bonus points are awarded based on the number of sessions you attend. :-)

An act of "Bring your work to life" was demonstrated as part of the conference.
There were several sessions on 1. Tips for career growth 2. Strategies to thrive in a male dominated environment. 3. How to get your resume noticed and land that interview. 4. Rock your profile: Unleash your wonderwoman on Linkedin. 5.Mastering the Virtual Technical Interview. 6. Building an Expansive career 7. Demystifying Diversity, equity and Inclusion in Careers. 8. Leading with Empathy! 9. Hack your present to build the future that you want!

Each session was about 20-25 minutes, just appropriate to keep your attention before it wanders away. All the sessions are recorded so they can be viewed at your convenience. This new form of conference attendance is relevant for current situations. It saves on travel costs but the human connection is getting formed in newer ways! Wonder how integrating virtual reality will play in such conferences.

I enjoyed day 1 of the session and look forward to day 2 of the session. I have attended some conferences in the past where the focus was on getting the people meet face to face. Now it is imperative that every name has a photo image attached to it to make your presence felt. In the absence of a face to a name, it is merely a connection.

A big advantage is : A lot more people from different parts of the world are able to view the conferences and learn the techniques. More of WT2. #WT2sv
