What motivates you everyday?

Motivation!

Motivation is intrinsic for 90% of the time. You wake up each day thinking about all the things that needs to be accomplished. You. have a checklist of items that you want to complete in the day and chugging along the day you try to complete them. That is intrinsic motivation, you want to achieve and be a high performer.

How you make people feel everyday drives the people around you and the atmosphere at your workplace and home! The outcomes you see in your life are a direct result of this subconscious action.

What is it that keeps you up at night? The thought that there are more than 20% of the Earth's population struggling to meet basic needs like food, water and shelter should be quite nerve-wrecking. What you do in your daily life has a large effect on the lower strata of the population. If you are self sufficient and cooking for yourself, cleaning up in some sense you have saved some people the extra work of helping you. Your status in the society is directly proportional to the amount of work that you can do for the society. Can you explain why?

If one person in the society does not work, he needs to be provided for and all the people who are working will look down upon him and start helping him. That is extrinsic motivation where you go to work saying "I am helping the needy and underprivileged". The lazy person on the other hand received what he needs for basic needs and lost his intrinsic motivation to go to work. He believes whoever helped me today will help me tomorrow. Instead of doing that, we can hire the person to do a simple task like cleaning the floor , doing the dishes etc. That will provide him a reason to wake up and learn to provide for himself.

The other thought process is if you are family man, you are motivated to go to work since you have to provide for all the members of the family. The family man has the capability to take on more responsibilities since he is responsible for the basic needs of his own family members. His motivation is part intrinsic and part extrinsic. However, we have to be cautious to not fall into the trap of the cyclical life. Take time off to step out of the continuous grind and observe, re-assess your priorities!

Every 10 years we can set a goal, work towards it and look back and feel accomplished!

Every person works to the best of his ability at least he believes so. Another form of motivation is wanting to prove to someone else that you are above the clouds (better than the rest in your pack). "Holier than thou" motivation can work for some time, but internal growth is what will take you for a more enjoyable ride through life.

Each day not doing anything is wasted! So Aim for it, Push Hard and Reach the other side!Keep rising!!
